CREW PLANNING & ROSTERING

Build the roster.
Keep the reasoning.

A planning workspace designed to connect commercial schedules with the people, history and rules needed to cover them.

FROM THE WEEKLY FILE TO A CONTROLLED PLAN

Start with a
schedule you trust.

Commercial schedules often arrive as weekly PDFs, followed by amendments. Flilu’s initial scope preserves the source, extracts the flight programme and highlights changes for planner review before a revised schedule is activated.

The next steps link aircraft configuration, crew requirements, pairings, qualifications and fixed activities. Approval and publication preserve the exact version—not just the latest screen.

Traceable schedule imports

Original files, reviewable rows, overnight dates and explicit time-zone assumptions.

Individual eligibility

Licences, ratings, medical limitations, recency and the composition of the crew.

Duty and rest in context

Reference time, cumulative history, external work and approved operating conditions.

RULES WITH TRACEABLE RESULTS

A result needs a reason.

The rules engine is designed to distinguish assignments that pass or fail configured checks from cases with missing data, unsupported calculations or unresolved rule sources. Each result must identify the applicable rule and supporting inputs. Rule profiles require approval through the airline’s authorised process.

M02Schedule intake

Bring commercial schedules into a reviewable, versioned flight programme.

Import weekly PDF schedules; compare amendments; retain source files and reviewed corrections; use Excel as an alternative input. Additional layouts, scanned-document extraction and schedule feeds are roadmap extensions.

M03Fleet & crew requirements

Link crew demand to the actual aircraft and its approved configuration.

Aircraft registrations, types and variants; seating and crew minima; base and operational requirements; approved rest-facility evidence where applicable.

M05Rules & legality

Make each scheduling decision explainable against an approved rule version.

Flight time, flight duty periods, duty periods and rest calculations; acclimatisation and reference time; cumulative history; crew composition restrictions; clear statuses for missing data and unsupported cases.

M06Crew pairings

Connect sectors, positioning and rest into workable duties and rotations.

Manual and assisted pairing construction; report and release times; continuity between sectors and bases; accommodation requirements and approved exceptions.

M07Crew rostering

Build a roster around coverage, availability and individual eligibility.

Weekly and monthly views; fixed activities; clear conflict explanations; versioned approval and publication. Automatic generation and advanced fairness objectives are roadmap capabilities.

ADVANCED PLANNING / ROADMAP

Automation after
a sound foundation.

Automatic pairing and roster generation, preferential bidding, seniority/fair-share objectives and reserve optimisation are roadmap capabilities. They follow validated data, approved constraints and repeatable acceptance tests.
